Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Angel, third and fourth issues, mintmark Ermine (1572-73), beaded inner linear circles both sides, St. Michael slaying the dragon, legend surrounds ELIZABETH DG ANG FR ET HI REGINA. Rev, ship bearing shield, cross above, E and rose flanking, A DNO FACTVM EST ISTVD ET EST MIRABI surrounds, pellet stops, 5.14gms. (S.2515; N.1991/2; Schneider -; Brown & Comber C11).

Set out on a broad flan, lustrous gold toning, consistently well detailed in both the angel and the surrounding legends, some areas of softness in the reverse ocean waves. Good very fine, a problem free specimen, rare.
