Focas (A.D. 602-610).

Gold Solidus, dated specifically to December 603, mint of Constantinople.

Obverse: DN FOCAS – PERP AV, bust of emperor facing, wearing consular robes and a crown, holding a mappa and a short cross.
Reverse: VICTORI-A AVCC E, Angle standing facing, holding a long staff surmounted by rho, and a globus cruciger, CONOB in exergue.

Some weakness in striking, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
