Description
George I (1714-27), Crown, 1726, Small Roses and Plumes, laureate and draped bust right, toothed border surrounding both sides, reads GEORGIVS D G M BR FR ET HIB REX FD. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, small roses and plumes in angles, nine strings to Irish harp, surrounding legend BRVN ET LDVX SRIATH ET EL, edge inscription DECVS ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI DECIMO TERTIO (S.3639a; ESC. 115; BULL 1546; R2).
Attractive olive toning on the obverse showing up the underlying original mint bloom, presenting as hints of light yellow and amber in the correct light. Portrait comprehensive in its detail, few contact marks. Rev, noticeably clear lustrous fields, well defined shields. Collar shift apparent above Tertio in the edge inscription. Extremely fine, toned, very rare.
