George I (1714-27), Half-Guinea, 1722, first laureate head right, legend surrounding, GEORGIVS DG MBFE ET HIB REX FD. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, incorporating the Arms of Hanover, ornamental sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date flanking top crown, legend surrounds BRVN ET L DVX SRIATH ET EL (S.3635; EGC 542; MCE.271).
Lustrous gold toning with reflective fields, the obverse die showing signs of clashing, impressive detail in the portrait, some surface markings. Rev, excellent and concise detail in the shields, with some fade in the lower segment of the Hanoverian arms. About extremely fine.
