George II (1727-60), Two Guineas, 1738, young laureate head left, legend surrounding, GEORGIVS II DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms, eight strings to the Irish harp, date either side of top crown, reads M.B.F.ET. H.REX. F.D.B.ET. L.D.S.R.I.AT.ET.E, edge grained,(S.3667B; MCE. 279) A classic example of Hanoverian milled gold, underlying mint lustre, good very fine, reverse better.
