Description
George III (1760-1820), Halfcrown, 1819, small head right, date below, legend surrounding GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms, within buckled garter with French motto, legend reads BRITTANIARUM REX FID DEF (S.3789; Bull.2102; ESC. 623).
Light prooflike tone, a mixture of slate grey gradually becoming lighter in the portrait region, some carbon streaks and spots, no real nicks or markings. Rev, much as struck with an amber mint bloom. Uncirculated, a better date in the series and the penultimate year of reign.
