George III (1760-1820), oval countermark on Spanish Eight Reales of King Charles III (1759-88), 1784, Mexico city mint, small oval hallmark of George III at centre of obverse, bust of Spanish King laureate and draped right, date below, legend surrounding, CAROLVS III DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms, pillar with ribbon incuse motto either side PLUS VLTRA, legend as HISPAN ET IND REX M 8R FM (S.3765A; Bull.1852; ESC.129).

Lightly toned, about or near very fine for issue.
