Germany, Brandenburg-Prussia, Friedrich I (1701-1713), silver Reichstaler 1701, CS, Berlin, laureate, armored and cloaked bust right. Rev. Crowned eagle flying right, head left, crown around his neck, orb and sword in his claws, above SVVM CVIQVE, below three smelters, in exergue CS (Christoph Stricker, mint master in Berlin 1701-1713), 29.25g (Dav. 2554; Müseler 49.1/1; v. Schr. 405; Olding 90a).

About Uncirculated, minor adjustment marks, rare in such amazing condition.

Silver for this coin comes from Rothenburg mine. In Rothenburg, copper has been mined since the 15th century, as well as silver. Mining lasted until around 1730 when it was interrupted by the Thirty Years’ War.
