Germany, Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, August II (1634-1666), silver “Wildman” Taler, 1643 HS, Zellerfled, ALLES MIT BEDACHT ANNO 1643 HS, Wildman standing left, holding tree. Rev. AUGUST HERTZOG ZU BRU LU, helmeted arms, 28.73g (Dav. 6338; Welt. 819).

In NGC holder graded AU 55, rare. Only one known finer.

“Wildman” Taler of this year is a more difficult design to find due to introduction of the Bell Taler in the same year.
