General Service Medal 1918-62, EIIR, one clasp, Malaya, awarded to Squadron Leader Peter Godfrey Gilbert, RAF, (Flt. Lt. P.G. Gilbert. R.A.F.) , lightly toned very fine.
Peter Godfrey Gilbert, B.Sc., was commissioned into the Royal Air Force Technical Branch as a Pilot Officer for three years active list service and four years on the reserve on the 18th November 1954, being given the number 504032. He was promoted to Flying Officer on the 18th November 1955, he was appointed to a Permanent Commission as a Flying Officer on the 14th November 1956 with seniority backdated to the 18th February 1954 and he was promoted from Flight Lieutenant to Squadron Leader on the 1st January 1965. He retired as Squadron Leader from the Engineer Branch on the 18th November 1970 after having served exactly to the day 15 years in the Royal Air Force. Probably his only medal entitlement.
