Henry VIII (1509-47), Groat, second coinage (1526-44), Tower mint, mintmark lis both sides, crowned bust in profile right, Laker bust D, legend surrounds HENRIC VIII D G R ΛGL Z FRΛNC. Rev, long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, saltires in fork ends, reads POSVI DEV Λ DIVTOR E MEV, 2.78g (S.2337E; N.1797). Toned, lustrous fields, despite what appears to be a soft strike still pleasing in its detail on a full flan, clear legends. Very fine on good metal.
