Description

India General Service Medal 1854-95, one clasp, Samana 1891 awarded to Jemadar Alam Khan, 19th Bengal Lancers (Fane’s Horse), (1092 Jemr Alam Khan19th Bl Lancers), engraved in sloping script, suspender slack otherwise very fine.

The 19th Bengal Lancers were part Brigadier General Sir W.S.A. Lockhart KCB, CSI, Divisional Troops for the second Miranzai Expeditionary Force which operated in the Miranzai Valley and the Samana Heights against local cleric Syed Mir Basha who had proclaimed “jihad”.
