An Indian General Service Medal 1908-35, one clasp, North West Frontier 1930-31, awarded to Sowar Tara Chand, Hodson’s Horse, (505 Sowar Tara Chand. Hodson’s Horse), toned very fine.

Sowar Tara Chand, later commissioned War Substantive Risaldar. Entered service on the 30th November 1920 and commissioned Jemadar on the 1st March 1938. Shown as War Substantive Risldr in the 1944 Indian Army List and still serving in 1946. He was a qualified Instructor in Driving and Maintenance; he qualified on the A.F.V armaments course, the small arms instructors’ course and the army Veterinary course. War Service: North West Frontier of India 1930.
