James I (1603-25), Shilling, third coinage (1619-25), initial mark trefoil (1624), sixth large crowned bust right, mark of value XII behind, legend surrounds .IACOBVS DG MAG BRI FRA ET HI REX. REV, plume over plain square topped quartered shield of arms QVÆ DEVS CONIVNXIT NEMO SEPARET surrounds, 5.66g (N.2125; S.2669). Struck on a slightly irregular flan, portrait showing some good detail despite a soft strike, legends in the main clear. Reverse, well struck up with definition in the plume over shield. Near very fine, softly struck, scarce.
