Description
James II (1685-88), Halfcrown, 1685, first laureate and draped bust left, legend surrounds IACOBVS II DEI GRATIA, toothed border both sides. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, plain angles, seven strings to Irish harp, garter star at centre, date at top crown, legend reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX. Edge inscribed decvs.ET TVTAMEN ANNO REGNI PRIMO (S.3408; ESC. 493; Bull.748).
Attractively toned, some surface markings in bust and light flecking, almost extremely fine.
