Japan, Meiji (1867-1912 AD), silver 1 Bu-Gin, 1868-69 AD, Ginza (Edo) mint; Jose, mint official, struck 1868-1869, Ichi Bu Gin in Hanji characters within border of sakura (cherry blossoms); ‘H’ sakura inverted. Rev. Jo in incuse countermark above Ginza Jose in Hanji characters; all within border of sakura, 8.60g (KM C16b; JNDA 09-54). Extremely fine.
