Jubilee (Police) Medal 1887 awarded to Police Constable Charles Pepperday L Division (Lambeth) (PC. C. Pepperday. L. Div), very fine

PC Charles Pepperday was born in Rutland on the 16th of September 1840, he joined the Metropolitan Police on the 6th of April 1868 serving all of his time in L division, Lambeth. He was injured during his service resulting in scars to his nose and temple. He resigned from the Police on the 7th of May 1894 receiving a pension of £55/9/4 per annum. Charles is also entitled to the Coronation (Police Medal) 1902 which was named to him as a Constable to P Division (Camberwell), when he returned as a Pensioner for the Coronation
