Kings of Pontos, Mithradates VI Eupator (c. 120-63 BC) Gold Stater, First Mithradatic War Issue, Kallatis, c. 88-86 BC. Struck in the name and types of Lysimachos, King of Thrace, 8.31g. Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great right, with the horn of Ammon. Reverse: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ – ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, holding Nike, transverse spear behind, trident below throne. (HGC 3, 1824; AMNG I, 258). Good Very Fine. Obverse of pleasant style for this series.
