A Sole Medal entitlement Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, QVR, awarded to Company Sergeant Major George Bull, Royal Engineers and Royal Engineers Militia- a qualified Sub-Marine Miner for over 28 years ‘service, – (6445. Sergt. G. Bull. Rl. Engineers.), lightly toned very fine.

George Bull enlisted at Brompton near Chatham on the 30th August 1860 aged 20 years a carpenter by trade. He attested at Rochester on the 1st September 1860 as Sapper, Royal Engineers, he re-engaged at Chatham on the 13th June 1872 to complete 21 years’ service, he served Home 1st September 1860 to 31st December 1860, New Brunswick 1st January 1862 to 7th May 1867, Bermuda 8th May 1867 to 30th January 1871, Home 31st January 1871 to 29th September 1879, Bermuda 30th September 1879 to 15th June 1881, Home 16th June 1881 to 13th October 1888. Transferred to the Militia 13th October 1881, discharged 13th October 1888 after 28 years and 43 days service.
