Description

Great Britain, Middlesex (London), John Skidmore (c.1748-1823), furnisher and stove-plate maker with businesses in Clerkenwell and High Holborn), Copper Halfpenny Trade Token, dated 1795, obverse: register stove, “No.123 HIGH HOLBORN LONDON” around square edges, PAYABLE AT SKIDMORES FURNISHING REPOSITORY around in outside border, reverse: men working in foundry with hammers and anvil, brick furnace behind, date below, MANUFACTORY & IRON FOUNDRY CLERKENWELL, edge milled, diam. 29mm (Dalton & Hamer “The Provincial Token Coinage of the 18th Century” 480).

About extremely fine and bronzed, faded inked lettering in the obverse field.
