A Tragic Great War Pair awarded to Private Herbert George Velden 2nd Battalion Honourable Artillery Company (Infantry) comprising 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (5302 Pte. H. G. Velden, H.A.C. (Inf)), very fine

Herbert George Velden was born on the 12th of July 1884 in Marylebone, London. He Attested for the Honourable Artillery Company (Infantry) on the 17th of November 1915, stating that he lived in Chelmsford, Essex. He served in the UK from November 1915 to September 1916 and then Served overseas form October 1916 to February 1919. His papers state he served in Belgium, France and Italy, whilst away on Active Service his 13 month old son, fell from a bed and died of head injuries, a Coroner’s inquest was held into the tragic fatal fall.
