Philip and Mary (1554-58), Shilling , issued with full titles, undated with mark of value, profile busts facing each other, crown above, legend and beaded border surrounding, PHILIP ET MARIA DG R ANG FR NEAP PR HISP. Rev, crowned oval quartered shield of arms incorporating Spain and England, value either side of crown, legend surrounding, POSVIMVS DEVM ADIVTOREM NOSTRVM, 6.28g (S.2498; N.1967).
Mildly wavy flan, edge chip at 6 o’clock. Despite some flatness and porosity, pleasing portraits, clear legends with much of the reverse shield visible. Near very fine.
