Phoenicia, Tyre (c. 126 BC – AD 65), Silver Half Shekel, 5.65g. Obverse: Laureate bust of Melkart right. Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow, club to left. (RPC I, 4691). Fair. An affordable example. This type of coin is believed to have been used to pay the Temple Tax in ancient Judaea.
