CMA25744 Queen’s South Africa Medal, 1898-1902, 3rd type, no clasp, to Private W. Sennett, “A” Company Mine Guard, Rand Rifles, (29164 Pte W. Sennett. Rand Rifles.), impressed naming very fine.
William Sennett was born circa 1871 in Tranmere, Birkenhead, Lancashire, and was in South Africa working as a mason with the Transvaal Coal Trust Company Ltd with the Boer War broke out. As such, Sennett then enlisted into the South African Colonial Forces at Cape Town on 30th January 1901, joining as a Private (No.29164) ‘A’ Company, Mine Guard, Rand Rifles.
