Royal Navy Egypt Pair awarded to Carpenters Mate Robert Brooking H.M.S Inconstant comprising Egypt Medal 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp, (R. Brooking. Carps Mte: H.M.S. “Inconstant.”), Khedive’s Star dated 1882, (Inconstant), impressed in small capital letter. Usual pitting from star, very fine.
Richard Brooking was born on the 19th March 1857 in Deptford, Kent. He joined the Royal Navy on the 25th May 1880 for an initial engagement of 10 years in the Rating of Shipwright. He served aboard Her Majesties Ships, Indus, Inconstant, Brittannia, Conquest, Wild Swan, Caroline, Wildfire, Victory, Excellent for Hero, Duke of Wellington for Gibraltar. He rose to the rank of Ship’s Carpenter.
He was awarded the Egypt Medal for service aboard H.M.S. Inconstant. Sold with copy service papers.
