Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, GVR, awarded to Acting Leading Seaman James Potts H.M.S. Defiance, (J. 92816 J. Potts. A/L.S. H.M.S. Defiance), toned fine
James Potts was born on the 6th of May 1902, in Dumbarton, he enlisted for the Royal Navy and served during the Great War as a Boy 1st Class being awarded the British War and Victory Medals whilst serving aboard H.M.S. Chardoc. He re-enlisted on the 1st of February 1929 stating that he was a Crane Attendant. He was discharged to Pension on the 23rd of July 1942.
