Scotland, Charles II (1649-1685), Silver Merk, 1672, retrograde 2 in date, First Coinage, Type II, laureate and draped bust right in armour, thistle with leaves below bust, rev struck en médaille, cruciform shields, crowned interlinked Cs in angles, value at centre, date in legend (SCBI 35:-; S.5611).
Toned, creased flan flaw on obverse, otherwise very fine for issue and extremely rare, not listed in the new standard catalogue.
