Great Britain, Scotland, Lothian, Edinburgh, imitation Copper Halfpenny Trade Token, dated 1792, obverse: figure of St Andrew with his cross, between thistles, NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT around, top right corner of cross points to first limb of A of LACESSET, reverse: arms of Edinburgh upon a shield, between thistles, crest an anchor, EDINBURGH HALFPENNY around, stop after HALFPENNY, no bands on anchor stock, top leaf on right thistle points just above foot of Y of HALFPENNY, top leaf on left thistle points to centre of E of EDINBURGH, edge LONDON LIVERPOOL OR MONTROSE, diam. 29mm (Dalton & Hamer “The Provincial Token Coinage of the 18th Century” 47f).
About very fine for issue and extremely rare, this the only specimen traced.
