Thailand, Siam, porcelain gambling Tokens, Siamese gambling tokens (1760–1875). Also known as ‘Pee’ tokens. About Extremely Fine.

Originally intended as tokens for gambling, these small porcelain tokens became popular as petty coinage. They come in all variety of forms: round, square, oval, in shape of a flower, etc. Some have inscriptions in Chinese or Thai, some have a pictorial design – usually animals. There are several collections of these in museums around the world, including the British Museum, the Museum Volkenkunde (Leiden), and the Sammlung Köhler-Osbahr (Duisburg).

Dimensions: from 1.5cm – 2.5cm.
Weight: 2g – 2.5g.
