The Africa General Service Medal, clasp Somaliland 1908.-10, awarded to Able Seaman John Robert Parker of H.M.S. Prosperine, (232454 J. R. Parker. A.B. H.M.S. Prosperine:), polished and toned fair
                    
John Robert Parker a Milk Boy born in York on the 18th of August 1888 joined the Royal Navy for 12 years on the 13th of August 1906. He served aboard Prosperine from the 15th of September 1906 to the 30th of October 1908, in 1910 his papers say Cells 5 days in 1913 Detention for Breaking out of Barracks 19th July 1914 – Run. 1918 – Run Again and finally 23 April 1919 Shore Demob. There is also He is also entitled to a 1914-15 Trio but the Great War Naval Medal Roll has an “R” against his name.
