The British War Medal to Charles Henry Gilbey 2nd Battalion The Essex Regiment who was Wounded in Action near Monchy on the 15th of December 1917 a Gun Shot Wound, Penetrating Chest and back – Severe, comprising 1914-1920 British War Medal, (33025 Pte. C.H Gilbey. Essex. R.), very fine

Charles Henry Gilbey joined the Essex Regiment on the 20th of November 1916 he joined the Battalion in France on the 7th of November 1917 and 38 Days later was shot through the chest he was returned to England and his war was over. He was posted to the 3rd Battalion in England and was eventually discharged on the 10th of March 1919
