The Casualty British War Medal awarded to Driver Charles Henry George Hillier 49th Signal Company Royal Engineers attached 246 Brigade Royal Field Artillery who was Killed by a shell on the 10th of October 1918, comprising 1914-1920 British War Medal, (558683 Dvr. C.H.G. Hillier. R.E.), very fine

246 Bde RFA War Diary 10th October 1918
Heavy Shell fell in HQ Lines in St Remy killing 7 and wounding 11 men, nearly all signallers also 13 horses killed.

Charles Hillier was a native of Upper Froyle, Hants, he enlisted in Hersham, Surrey he was the son of Mr H. Hiller of Long Sutton, Basingstoke, Hants, he is buried in Plot 1 Row B, Grave 7 of Naves Communal Cemetery Extension.
