Iverson, D. & Hill, S. [Ed.] The Jubilee Head Gold Sovereign 1887-1893. London, 2015. 32 pages, full colour illustrations throughout with many enlargements. Card covers.
A limited edition publication 32 page publication reveals fascinating insights into the real rarity of the known varieties of Jubilee Head currency series, as well as giving more in depth information about these varieties and categorising them with their own D.I.S.H reference numbers. We also acknowledge our collaboration with the Royal Mint Museum in researching this publication, which includes some illustrations of entries in surviving Royal Mint ledgers with information about dies for this coinage produced in London, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as the more human aspect of the back story behind the coinage. There is a new revelation about the true mintage figure of what was first produced at the Sydney Mint in 1887 as well as an analysis of all mintage figures across the six dates of coin production. Additionally for the first time a new tabulation indicating the degree of current rarity of each variety has been added as an appendix which will be a valuable tool to all those interested in the gold sovereign series.
A fascinating and highly important reference.
