A Battle of The Somme 1916 Casualty pair awarded to Private Douglas William Davidson 1/8th Battalion Middlesex Regiment comprising 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (5326 Pte. D.W. Davidson. Midd’x R.), toned very fine.

Douglas William Davidson enlisted into the 1/8th Battalion The Middlesex Regiment on the 29th of October 1915. He was discharged, on the 9th of December 1916 with a pension for life after being wounded. The 1st /8th were in action at Gommecourt on the 1st of July 1916. Attacked Ginchy on the 11th of September and attacked Leuze Wood on the 15th of September. It is most likely that Private Davidson was severely wounded in one of these operations. He was issued Silver War badge no 90878.
