Private Edward Carey was originally 10863 6th Battalion The Queens Regiment where he was Awarded the Military Medal whilst serving with the 6th Battalion, The London gazette of the 30th of July 1917 refers, for actions at Messines or Arras – transferring to the Tank Corps as 308267, his Medal Index card states that he was Acting Serjeant, he landed in France on the 20th of July 1915 and as well as the Military Medal is also entitled to a 1914-15 Star Trio.
A very rare award – only 7 MSMs to the Tank Corps for South Russia.
