Description
Victoria (1837-1901), Bronze Penny, 1881, Heaton mint, young laureate bust left, toothed border and inner linear circle both sides, legend surrounds VICTORIA DG BRITT REG FD. Rev, Britannia seated right, holding trident, lighthouse, ship in sail sea in front, sea not quite meeting the inner linear circles, reads ONE PENNY around, date in exergue, with H below (S.3955; Freeman 108: Dies 11 & M; BMC.1724).
Evenly toned displaying much of the original mint bloom, a well balanced example, free from nicks or markings. The odd carbon toning spot and hairlines. Some soft spots on the reverse in the sea and queens chest plate. Near uncirculated
