Victoria (1837-1901), Proof Halfcrown, 1839, young head left with two fillets binding hair, w.w. incuse on truncation, date below, reads VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed outer border both sides. Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms, eight strings to Irish harp, within laurel wreath, emblems below, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID DEF surrounds, edge, plain (S.3887; Davies 631; Bull.2713; ESC 672B R3).

Iridescent tone, mirrored fields, some contact marks, small rim bruise at 8 o’clock, otherwise much as struck.
