Great Britain, Wales, Brecknockshire (Brecon, one of the thirteen historic counties of Wales), Silver Shilling Token, undated (c.1811), obverse: Arms of Brecon (a robe) at centre, BRECKNOCK SILVER TOKEN FOR XII PENCE around, reverse: FOR ALL PARTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM in three lines at centre, knot ornament below, PAYABLE AT GEORGE NORTHS GENERAL WAGGON WAREHOUSE around, edge milled, diam. 25mm (Dalton, “The Silver Token Coinage 1811-1812”, 1).
Obverse extremely fine, attractively toned, reverse better than very fine, weakly struck at centre and patchy tone, original lustre both sides, scarce this nice.
