William II (1087-1100), Penny, Cross pattée and fleury type (1095-98), London mint, moneyer Walcin, crowned facing bust holding sword within inner linear circle, legend surrounds +PILLELM RE. Rev, cross pattee and fleury design, legend reads PIILCIN ON LIIND, 1.39g( S.1261 N.855; BMC.246; Allen, BNJ 2012, p.77; BMC IV).

Executed with a somewhat soft strike, nevertheless the portrait proficient and full, legible legends. Rev, cross pattee and fleury motif evenly detailed, legends clear dies a little blocky. The type and the moneyer recorded equally as very rare. Very fine.
