William III (1697-1702) Treaty of Ryswick and the State of Britain in 1697, Silver Medal (108.96g, 71mm.) 1697 by John Croker, Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of William r., GVLIELMUS • III • DEI • GRA : MAG : BR : FRA : ET : HIB : REX, rev. Britannia seated and holding trident and shield, beside her an olive-branch resting upon a book and a broken yoke, RESTITVTORI, , BRITANNIA MDCXCVII in exergue in two lines, (MI ii, 192/499; E 372; Pax 348; vL.IV, 250), toned and lustrous with a beautiful blue iridescence, apart from small scrape to r. of Britannia’s’ head. Good Extremely Fine, a splendid example of this attractive and impressive medal.
